I am all last minute

I have been pretty busy making a few last minute things as christmas gifts.

Very me, to be so all last minute.

Wheat bags … which are always handy to have.
But, you never can find!

I have also been promising someone a table runner for years!!

So I grabbed out a Salt Air by Moda, jelly roll and got sewing.
This jelly had been an impulse purchase from the lovely QuiltJane at Want It Need It Quilt, which I am glad I made!  I used Aurifil 50 wt to piece and quilt these lovelies.

A gorgeous palette and will look lovely with the dark maroon/red feature wall of the dining area.

Can’t wait to gift them.

Oh Christmas Tree

Christmas Trees are all the rage right now.

The seasonal spirit has definitely been hanging around here, and it has seen me make my own.

It is a massive 90 inches x 76 inches and reaches from
floor to ceiling in my home.  It is too tall for the back fence!!

This quilt is the largest quilt I have ever made, and first I have quilted on Kay of Shocking Hocking’s, Gammill longarm quilting machine!!

I did a simple, large stipple to get used to the weight of the machine and all the other bibs and bobs that go along with loading, quilting and unloading a quilt of this size.  It is made from a layer cake (with loads left over) of Joy by Moda, some christmas fabric I recieved in a birthday fq swap, and fabric from the stash.  The backing, of which I don't have a pic, is a Henry Glass fabric in a baby blue with red holly from the Barbara Jones from Quiltsoup's Over the River collection.  The binding is in the co-ordinating stripe.  All bought for a song at Darn Cheap Fabrics!!

Roxy checking it all out

I have learnt a lot in this process.

Now to get those hooks placed, so the tree can go up on the wall!

EQ DQS12 Recived

I have been meaning to blog this little beauty for a while.

My little online quilting group had its annual swap.  This is what the gorgeous Kylie made for me.  I always look forward to these swaps and can't wait for next years!

Such rainbow goodness, I love it!

I might have to try this block myself.

Thank you so much XX

My Mini - Rosie

I am so pleased to post a finish.

A Rosie panel, it is an iconic image, with a quilty spin.

I love it.

Playing around with pebbles, straight lines and McTavishing … I have had a blast.

The white pebbles are quilted in Aurifil 50wt, the thread is beautifully lintness ( I love that word) and silky.  I will definitely be using more in the future.

Every time I look at this piece, it makes me smile.
